Christopher Hauke is a Jungian analyst, writer and filmmaker.
After writing and editing the first volume of Jung and Film Christopher was invited to compete for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Hollywood, film scholars bursary. His proposal on ‘What makes movies work – the unconscious and the filmmakers’ craft’ was not successful on that occasion but led to the decision to make film himself.
As a filmmaker, Christopher has often integrated his films into his writing and conference presentations. He finds that visual material, stills and clips, are important in conveying what he wishes to put across – either as illustrations or as amplifications of his themes. The original proposal for the Academy is now the basis for Chris’ new book Visible Mind.
